When it comes to increasing the flow in your milk makers there are things you can eat, drink and do. For instance, have you heard about pumping boot camp? It’s pretty easy to do. Save the image below for later, you may need it!

Other than pumping boot camps, you have to be good to your body, and yourself. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. If you’re sick of plain, boring water, give some water enhancers a try!
While I know you’re probably tired as hell. Nursing, or pumping every few hours can take a toll. The next thing I’m going to tell you may make you hate me. But that’s okay. You gotta cut the coffee. I’m sorry. It’s true, caffeine will dehydrate you. Yes, it’s wake up juice, but it’s crap for milk supply. Keep these three things in mind:
- Lower your stress level
- Up your rest level
- And pump up the water levels
One way to feel like you’re getting the same warm cup’a fix is by picking up some great teas. Specifically lactation teas! At first, the taste might take a bit to get used to. But then again, the same can be said for wine and other bevies right? Just pop some honey in and let that warm cup of love soothe your soul.

Did you also know that beer that is high in hops is great for milk production? It’s all about the barley. Now, I’m not talking about downing a six pack all at once. What I am saying is that the properties in a good IPA are a perfect mix of lactation worthy goodness. While I can’t stand the smell, let alone the taste of IPA’s, my husband loves them, so maybe I’ll give one a swig when we have our next child. Do your research first though.
