Day 4 of Blogmas! How could we bring up the topic of Christmas and not include a wishlist? Seriously. Black Friday is over, as is Cyber Monday so hopefully that means my email inbox will chill out! I do still have a lot of Christmas shopping to do for my family, as in all of it. But what about me? Time for me to write my Christmas wishlist. In hopes, hubby will come across it. Hehe.
This year, being Peyton’s second Christmas, we will be going to spend it with Geoff’s family down in Cape Breton. My own wishlist will be pretty simple this year.
In past years, before Peyton, Geoff and I certainly went overboard. Almost every Christmas meant new football or hockey jerseys for each of us, football season tickets and other things. However, I’m trying to live more minimal, at least for myself anyway.
Sure, it’s fun to have a bunch of stuff under the tree. But it’s just that… stuff! After moving across the country and having to downsize significantly because of it, I’ve found happiness with having essential things and a few wants.

A lap desk
I constantly am going from room to room working on my laptop. It would be great to have either a lap desk or a bed tray to work off of! I had one in the past, however, it was cheap and junky. It did the job for a bit but clearly not long enough! I’ve found a couple of nice ones:
More time for myself
Maybe this is a mom thing in general, but I’m always putting others first. I know this fix can start with me, but it’s worth a wish, right? Stealing away and finding the minutes here and there to write is incredible, but I need to start making more out of the house time. Holla if ya hear me!
A proper desk/computer chair
My current workspace is alright, but not ideal. I’d love to have a more ergonomic place to work, or even just hang out on Pinterest. It’s not comfortable to sit at for very long so I end up opting for the bed or couch. Again not the greatest on your back.
A few books I’ve been eyeing on Amazon
This comes back to making time for myself. However, I’ve had these books on my wishlist for quite awhile!
What blogger or human wouldn’t want one of these beautiful technological creatures? I have only owned Windows computers but I think it’s time to make the switch!
An induction burner
Our stove was dead for a little while and man did it suck! A positive that came from it is that a friend from work let me borrow her induction cooktop. I loved that little thing! Boy oh boy was it ever powerful, and not to mention, much better on electricity than a whole stove!
Boy, looking at that list sure gets my heart pumping! Haha! How times have changed. If you asked me 10 years ago, it’d be designer this, designer that. At the end of the day, if that makes you happy, all the power to you. I’m just trying to keep it simple, and for me, that’s happiness.
What’s on your wishlist this year? Please share below in the comments! I’m dying to know!
