Cookies are probably the most underrated Christmas dessert. Not sure why, but they are. Maybe they’re just not the trendy thing right now. Unless you turn them unicorn or mermaid I guess. But don’t even get me started on that whole fad.
In my family, we never were much for Christmas baking. Growing up, I quickly came to know, it was a fun thing a lot of families did. My friends would always bring cute little tins of holiday goodies into school that they lovingly made with their parents. Mom isn’t a baker, which is fine! She always did the crafty stuff with me, which was equally great.
Each year I always intend on baking a ton of Christmas goodies. Only a few times have I ever actually done it. One year I made gluten-free, chocolate crinkle cookies for work. Holy cow they were good. Gooey, chocolatey, delicious. Don’t worry, I’ll share that recipe later on.
This year, the extent of my Christmas baking was me baking muffins while Peyton napped. That’s okay though. I’d rather have him eating something nutritious rather than chalk full of sugar. However, it’s not just about him. My sweet tooth has been at an all-time high lately, so I wouldn’t mind a secret stash of cookies for myself. Since I’m being honest.
